We stumbled upon Lakewood Labradoodles’ page by accident – seriously! I was searching for “breeders in Texas” and their page popped up first (I saw “Lakewood” and thought it was the Lakewood area near our house in Dallas!). Our “accident” turned out to be a HUGE blessing in disguise. We live in Texas and figured finding a Texas breeder would be most economical but I quickly came to realize that it didn’t matter where we lived – we wanted to go with Lakewood Labradoodles because they were the most knowledgeable, friendly and caring people out there (believe me, I did my research!). The fact that they hand-raise all of the puppies as their own with the help of their children was a HUGE factor in helping us select Lakewood Labradoodles – our little Owen is not fazed by any type of person – big or small – man or woman (a lot of puppies if not exposed to younger children can be afraid and it’s a tough fear to break!). My biggest fear in selecting a breeder so far away from us was that we wouldn’t be able to be involved in the process from birth to going home with us. That wasn’t the case at all. We were sent videos and pictures almost daily of all of the puppies playing together and with their mom. We felt like we were right there with them every single day – and that alone meant more to our family than Brenda & her family will ever know. Shortly after deciding to reserve one of Piper & Rudy’s puppies, the dog we already had and who would have been Owen’s brother (Oliver) passed away. It was a devastating and tragic even that happened in our lives and Brenda couldn’t have been more comforting and compassionate as we went through that day by day. We really felt like we gained a friend during that time, and now feel like we can call her entire family our friends. Once we selected the name Owen, everyone at Lakewood Labradoodles started using his name at a young age so that he’d learn it well before the time we took him home (and he did!). They’re doing something right over there – they tackle all of the difficulties in raising a puppy early on: crate training/leash training/potty training/you name it! Owen was a BREEZE once we got him home – he was completely house broken In less than 2 weeks! Not only was Owen a breeze to train (since all of the legwork was done before he came to his forever home), Owen is the sweetest, goofiest and most loving dog we’ve ever had. His temperament is proof that Brenda and everyone at Lakewood Labradoodles spent those crucial 8-9 weeks loving and caring for the litter as if they were their own puppies. We weren’t sure which little guy would be coming home with us for the first 6-ish weeks and was tough not knowing which one we’d call Owen and get to take home, but during those 6-ish weeks Brenda and everyone at Lakewood Labradoodles got to know the puppies and made sure to pick out the perfect puppy for each person. We think they couldn’t have picked him better – he’s a perfect fit for our family and we fall in love with him every day! We can’t thank Lakewood Labradoodles enough for everything they’ve done for our family and for providing us the perfect addition to our family. We thank God every day we accidentally stumbled upon their page.
We are so extremely happy with our decision to get Owen from Lakewood Labradoodles that we’ve already decided to get Owen’s future sister from one of their next litters. My advice to anyone reading this testimonial – No need to keep looking for your forever pup – Lakewood Labradoodles is the best, hands down.
